Rainy Day Glory | Modo & Mini Yoga

It's been raining since early yesterday, with periodic breaks here and there, just enough to take a chance sprint outside and back. Today was no different, although by some miracle of chance, the downpour held off long enough for Carri and I to visit a client and walk their outdoor grounds. [Yay!] It lapsed back into a curtain of falling water within moments of returning from that appointment, and as far as any of us guessed, that would be the tone for the rest of today.

But not in Cincinnati! Here, as part of the grand Midwest, it can rain, snow, sleet, blaze sun and blow a house down all in the same day. Today it chose two of those: Sun and rain simultaneously, which resulted in one of my favorite natural phenomenons:

Double rainbow! ♥
I, like the good little Instagrammer that I am, hashtagged that with #Cincinnati. I checked to see if there were any other recent tags from our little city, and as it turns out, this rainbow was seen from all over the city. One tag I found from an IG'er lnstewart1:
gorgeous!
Love love love.

After work, I headed straight home, thanks to Rob picking Sydni up from Mindi's after a day spent home recovering from whatever migraine bug has hit his entire staff. We're happy to report he's feeling much better now, which was perfect, since we agreed I'd sprint out for an hour to sweat my skin off at Modo.
Elisa met me there, and for the first time at Modo, she and I took a class together! Our instructor had apparently injured himself [feel better SOON, Pablo!], so we had Lauren instead, and had a great time.

I headed home to find Rob with a cold compress draped over his forehead, and was just about to ask where Sydni was, when she came flying around the corner:

"It's YYYYYYOGA TIME!!!!"

I was sweaty beyond belief; my clothes were drenched and sticking to me, cold now that I'd left the studio and traveled home. But, you don't deny your daughter when she wants to do yoga with you. You just... don't. ♥

Sorry about the scantily clad-ness of yours truly, but tonight Sydni and I worked a little bit on balance; she was so excited to use mommy's mat that she wasn't anything near focused on breathing, balance, etc. But... it was adorable and I'm not mad.

working on our trees ;) ... stay tuned!
Love love love it.

We're not Laura Sykora & Co, but we're having fun and working on our practices in our own way. ;)
[Soon enough, soon enough!]

Rainy Day Promises

I won't say that I was having a bad day today, but I won't venture out and tell you it was fantastic, either. My life, for the most part, is above average in most respects. I have all of the essential things I need and then some, but every once in a while I trip into a little rut of some sort.

Because I love to self-diagnose, I'm going with seasonal depression on this one. Really, not even the whole season.. just.. the overly rainy days of the season, when all I want to do is see the sun shining and feel the warmth of it, but wake up to, work through and drive home through... rain.

Today's nothing special based on all of that ^^ up there, but what I saw on my way home was like a gentle but stern slap to the face:
Stop whining. See the beauty.
rainbow!
It hit me so hard that all I could do was laugh. Aloud. In my car, alone. I laughed! What was I so upset about? A rainy day? The fact that I wanted the sun to shine, but would have to wait one, maybe two more days at most? Get a grip, Cori. I trust in the promises that I'll never be given more than I can handle; it's time I start actually remembering that it's true!

So I stopped whining, and I saw the beauty of that huge rainbow floating over Beechmont Avenue.

Thank You. ♥

Amen? AMEN!
