Random Messages

Ever have one of those days that just... get really weird, really quickly?

Well, the day itself didn't prove to be that far out of the ordinary, but it was a coincidental slew of unrelated messages that popped up early on that made me both smile and simultaneously feel that cringe of reminiscent feelings of things and times long gone by.

First, my cousin Corey, who I haven't seen in a solid number of years due to his current residence in Vegas: He sent me a picture of a dry erase board that a friend of ours and I scribbled out to him one morning after he'd been kind enough to host us in his apartment. This is nothing to most, but to me, this is a 13ish-year-old dry erase board that somehow stayed untouched all this time. Haha.

Secondly, came this, out of the blue from Kalyn:

*tear!

We're hopefully going to see Kalyn at the end of this month when we head her way en route to the Smoky Mountains; we planned a weekend around her and I have a feeling it'll be amazing :)

Lastly, I received a random but wonderful note of love from Rob's mom!

I couldn't think of a much better way to start off the week than feeling the love the way I did today!
Here's to the rest of the week being equally empowering :)!

New Text Message: THANK YOU!

happy textaversary!
I'm lacking orginality in my thought processes [processees? - ssi? smh, I dunno] today. Bigtime. I started to formulate a line of really interesting, thought-provoking diatribe on my way in to work this morning, but Monday got the best of me and so instead, I just drove my little commute in song to Alison Krauss.

You can't go wrong..... with Alison Krauss.

Anywho - guess what factoid I [along with anyone else who plugged into the news] heard today?

That text message I just sent has an ancestor that just turned 20.

Consider this my token of sheer gratitude to Neil Papworth [&& if that's not a British name, I don't know what is] for his contribution to the technological era. Thanks, Neil, for that 1992 Christmas well-wish that revolutionized the world of mobile communication and is now a staple for insta-contact here in 2012. You're pretty stellar.

I've got real work to do today. Happy Monday (:

thx!

My Friends Are Random, Too

If there's one thing that I hear on a pretty consistent basis, it's that I'm random. Well, that's true. However, I decided I should shatter some assumptions that I'm the only one of that litter that conjures up completely irrelevent and unexpected news on a regular basis.

I was in Cincinnati a few days back and shortly thereafter received this message from Catie. Please disregard the comment from me about moving home; that's something of a joke, but otherwise please see for yourself the moment of candid randomness that is just one element of why she's one of my favorite friends.

Good stuff.
Mainstrasse. Stroller. Cat.
I love it.

That was obviously a few days ago, but I'd completely forgotten about it and I felt I should really lay to rest any suspicion that I'm a unique breed ... lol.

That, or it's an Ohio thing.
One of the two.
Happy random day, bloggerbees! Go do something unexpected (:
