Sandy Weenis: The Reunion!

Today was a blur. That's not a bad thing, and I know I was productive, but at the end of it I was left kind of wondering what I did all day. I know I'm not the only one this happens to; Elisa said the same thing when 4:45 rolled around. So TAKE THAT, Wednesday!

Of course Wednesdays = volleyball, which always gets us excited. Beth was out tonight, so our friend and former teammate Paul stepped in. So good to see an old face!

Paul, Kalyn & I played together on a team with Tim back at Grand Sands a few years back and wound up winning the league, as team Sandy Weenis. For those of you somehow unfamiliar with what a weenis is....  it's your outer elbow. I don't know why that was the first place we went with our team name then, but it worked and was kinda funny.

Now, as team Backseat Sets [it's customary to have strangely-insinuating team names in sand volleyball leagues], we've not had the best streak all season but I expect the next go-round to be a bit better.

Meh. Thanks again, Paul, for standing in with us tonight!

Tomorrow = Thursday = almost Friday = almost the weekend!
Also = finish the daggone edits tomorrow night and get them posted.
.... I will, I will. I promise.

Happy Hump Day!

Playful Pitties

Things I love [that are relevent to this entry]:
* Dogs.
* Photography.
* Nikon D90.
* Friends.
* Summer Weather.
* Smiling.

All of that being said, now that I'm fully out of the house in Shiloh, I'm up in Granite for the next couple of weeks and therefore living with a few roommates. Some of them happen to be canine; along with Mike, Kelly & Rob, Mike's dog Sasha and Kelly's dog Ziggy, there is now Stella and myself, for the time being. It's been a little boisterous in there when all three pups are wound up, so I made it a point to try and drain out some of that energy today.

It's beautiful outside. I got to the house just as Mike and Kelly were leaving; they took Ziggy with them so he didn't get to be a part of the photo madness that ensued. I grabbed the D90 and took the girls out to the backyard to play... and well, the rest is photo history:

We had.. a blast. (: I've not finished editing the entire gallery of shots I took today, but these were by far the best, so I definitely wanted to share. We just got back from dinner at Bindy's [hiiiiii, Alicia!] and it is.... time for sleep.

fried green beans? yessssss... thanks, bindy's!
What a good day (:

Spoiled Girl. Handy Boy. Crazy Pup.

This whole Monday thing needs to stop repeating itself. I'm not opposed to the actual day itself, but I'm definitely not a fan of all that it brings with it off of the weekend lapse. Tonya was out sick today [feel better!!], so we ran a man short for the day. Thankfully, Marc & Diana are back from ILC [with greetings from 1663, aw ♥], so that at least eased the regular ache of Monday.

*Unrelated note to self: Remind Ali that we planned on getting massages two Mondays ago, which has yet to happen. Let's make that happen, soonish... yeah?*

Anyway, today was day one of leaving Stella at home for the entire day. I quarantined her in my room like I've done for shorter periods over the last couple of days, and thankfully she did just fine. She's a champ (: As a reward, we took the early part of the evening to play in the backyard. I may or may not have put the D90 to work for a few minutes as she romped around the yard.
stella the pit... aka #stellapittie
She ran and ran, and ran around some more, before we finally brought it in for the evening. Rob came by after work and much to my surprise practically made a beeline to the kitchen and started right in on DINNER. Gosh, I'm a spoiled girl. (: Excuse the cornball mash-up, but I found these two completely separate shots and figured I'd create an applicable blend of sorts.
yep. true story ♥
Not saying that guys are typically bad chefs, because really they aren't, but if I'm being honest I will say that I was pleasantly surprised by my boyfriend's culinary skill. Seriously! I think I was more surprised by the impromptu delving into my kitchen than anything else; it occurred to me tonight that this is the first time he's done dinner.. solo. Haha. We just hit a new level.... and soooomeone else wanted to be a part of it....

"can i have just one little bite???"
Aw. (:

Oh, and let me just say she's been barking a bit over the past few days; I'm sure it's a huge adjustment to her coming out cramped quarters with a family including a couple small kids and another dog to my house: unnecessarily spacious and quiet for the most part, especially when it's completely void of Sydni or other rare company. We're getting better, though, and tonight Rob laid down the law with a rolled up newspaper. Not only did I snag a good chef, I found a dog whisperer. Haha. I feel spoiled! :p Seriously, though... lucky me (:

Well, he's nerdin' away at COD and I'm nerdin' away at some other edits and ... this blog.. and Stella's finally settled down some. It's proved to be a pretty good day and not an awful start to the week, either.

Let's try this again tomorrow...

Cross-Eyed Editor

Peppermint hot chocolate + Soundtrack [Punch Brothers. Civil Wars. Neil Young. Alison Krauss. Mumford & Sons. Avett Brothers. Sarah Jarosz. ETC.....] + Edit+Edit+Edit+Edit

= Me. Just about cross-eyed and bouncing off the ceiling from the over-caffeination.

Welcome to my Sunday. I spent the bulk of it lounging at Starbucks, editing myself blue in the cornea. I feel like I should just surgically implant this Mac onto my body after today. Haha. It was nearly blinding, but I got a lot done and can now breathe a little easier knowing I'm a little caught up. Nearly five hours of caught up. What am I, in college again?

No. Definitely not. But it was still a good day.

No... more... computer. [g'nite!]

Cutest Apology Ever

I just want to highlight this for the day and leave it at that:

cutest apology, ever
^ My friend Sarah's daughter snagged her cell phone last night and managed to call me. I wasn't sure what she needed when I saw the phone ringing, but was quickly informed that it was in fact, a hacked effort.

&& then I got this.
&& then I decided she could call me ANYtime she wanted. Haha.

Too funny.

|| On to The Voice, some more edits, and probably a trip to Gold's to work off the Red Robin I shamelessly devoured today with the gals from work. *Sigh. My oh My. (:
