I. Want. Holtman's... NOW.

I. AM. SO. CLOSE.
via insta: @tessamaes

^ Boy, if that wasn't the cold hard truth today....

The coffee we made at work this morning was blacker than tar. Stronger too, I'm pretty sure. It's bad when I get a caffeine headache from being over-caffeinated. Holy cow. I was tired this morning, but then Nick rounded the corner with the press, planted it directly in front of me and simply said, "drink."
ya beaut!
spilling it too, because i can't multi-task...
^ I drank the coffee, and proceeded to do the things. And I was doing just fine until Nick again, came back for seconds:
holtman's. for real?!
GAH! The universe knows that I am staring down the light at the end of this tunnel, and it wants me to fight a little harder for it. I mean, I didn't eat a donut today, if that's what you're wondering, but again - close, close call.

Things I've gained from this: Self-Control
Things I've lost from this: Many a beautiful donut ;)

Oh, and of course we didn't go a full day, let alone a week, without having at least one installment of the "What IS she?" game:

I came back from having that conversation, and walked into both A) my coworkers having made me a sign for my office, and B) my friends mapping out the distance between point P and other point P:
lol....

*Sigh.

In other news, this chickadee finally lost another tooth today, which has been hanging on far past what we expected it to.
such a ham!
All in all, not a bad Monday. Two more full days of W30 and it's over, and four more days until the weekend again. What's not to love about that?!

Happy Monday, blogbots! ♥

New Family Members!

... The Express family, that is.

Today we opened our office to a couple who will be the newest members of the Cincitucky Express family [Cincinnati + N.KY]. They'll be taking over a territory that was vacated by another owner a year or so back; today we welcomed them to our office to conduct interviews for their first staffing consultant.
welcome to the express fam!
Quick rewind to this morning... just really quick:
ohio.
^ Ohhhhhio, STOP IT!
Yeah, that's snow. Yeah, it was like, I dunno, almost 60 yesterday? Yeah, it's April. I know I'm not alone in wishing this crap would just..... go..... away. *Sigh. Mother Nature- 1, Ohioans Wishing for Warm Weather - 0.

Anyway, we lightened the drab start with the new owners; that's a special occasion for us, which also means food. If there's one unspoken Express standard, it's the provision of food at everything that could be considered a gathering. Shoot, we have office lunches here every single Friday. Today it was Chris bringing donuts, a pot of coffee to go around, and a bowl of greek yogurt+berries+honey. Nom, nom freakin' nom!

beauty in a bite!
After work, it was off to start my Easter preparation. That meant a trip to the dollar store to pick up a collection of plastic eggs, miscellaneous little trinkets and toys to fill them, some last-minute things for Syd's Easter basket and a few other things. I may have gone slightly overboard this year, but hey... that's the fun part!

Happy Tuesday, friends!

Birthday Shout Out{s}

It's my friend Clark's 29th birthday today.
That cracks me up, because we've been friends since middle school and honestly were uncertain either of us would survive our hometown long enough to make something of ourselves. [That's a joke....] We did, and as I look back over the years and to where this guy is now, I'm glad to say that he's a friend of mine and I wish him all the continued success there is to offer!

Happy birthday, Sheff!!! I'll see you in the 29 club here in 10 days!
2003 v. 2012
happy birthday, clark!
Speaking of birthdays, I forgot to mention that we had a miniature belated celebration for Nikki yesterday, complete with donuts and coffee.. ya know, the way real office birthdays are supposed to be done. Haha. I laugh because I still have a healthy metabolism and exercise regiment.... if I keep this crap up for another 10 years though, it might be a different story.. ;)

busken & coffee. holy heart-attack.
And... cue workout. (:
Sydni and I are taking a quick break from dancing around the living room, so I think we'll get our exercise in tonight.

Happy belated birthday, Nikki, & Happy TODAY birthday, Clark!
