Woo!

And no, I'm not referencing the Myers-Briggs test result, but one of these days I'll get on here and share those with everyone.. haha. Today was just.. just a good day to be thankful for everything in it - the good, the frustrating, the delicious and whatever else came along with it.

For starters, there was this guy:
yes.
^ I love that guy. I don't know his story, but if I'd had the chance to snag him before we parted ways in the parking lot, I would have asked. It's a small gesture to put a sign in your window, but he was shameless about it, and for that I applaud him. Plus, it's true, and I need to be reminded of that sometimes, even on good days.

I got hit with the desire to eat teriyaki for dinner, so that's what I did, and if Rob was in fact being honest, then he thought the same :). It's not a hard recipe, so if any of ya'll want it, let me know!

The evening was nothing spectacular, but we did have a contest between the dogs, of who could jump higher, hang on the longest and scrabble the quickest after a thrown toy. Sasha unsurprisingly has the greater amount of physical range, but man oh man, watch out for Stella's pearly whites if you're wild enough to stick your hand in the middle of a toy battle.
go go pups!
Aaaaaand.... the highlight of Rob's week when it comes to the house: LOOK what is finally fitting in the garage! Please excuse the clutter around the car; that won't always be there, but I am so proud of him for his dedicated work in clearing out the space and all of the shelf-building he's done to make space for our cars! One down, one to go getting in here..
thanks, babe!
The countdown's on.. just a few more days and then it's a 3-day weekend, with good friends, boats & plenty of lake to go around. I. Can't. Wait.

'Tis The Season for Froyo & Cheetah Helmets!

I could only describe my attitude today as Senioritis. Remember that? That feeling we all [well, if you're an old hen like me] had way back when we were still in school and the end of the year was so close we could taste it?

Yeah, so that was me today. I have no reason to feel that way, since I'm a grown up human with grown up responsibilities and a grown up job that doesn't go on summer break. It made no sense to feel like that today, but the fact that I did accomplish several things spoke enough to say that I somehow made it through the way I imagined a more adultier adult would've done it. So... yay!

On the other hand, I took Sydni out on a mini date after school today and she gave me, in two pictures, the exact explanation I needed to describe how I felt all day today - the left is me on the outside, and the right is me on the inside. Like.... all day.
life story... haha
We really need to come to Orange Leaf more often... not just because it's delicious, but because there's some pretty legit tokens of wisdom coming out of this place.. hah...
#preach
Back at home, we took to the street to pedal and jog off some of that froyo. Did I forget to mention we picked up a cool bike helmet on the way back today? Because that happened, too, and it made for an even merrier afternoon on the bike. Mama got to meet some of the neighbors, too, which was added a little extra flair to the experience.

Rob came home and immediately took to the garage, where the vertical storage project continued. I truly wish I had a picture of the garage before we started sifting through the piles of stuff we've had in there for the past couple months since we moved, but he's definitely brought the potential out of that space. In just a few more weeks, I suspect we may actually be able to park one of our cars in there.

Say whaaaat? Park a car in the garage? ;)
I know, I know.. just kidding, babe. The garage is looking incredible, and I will wait as long as we need to!
in progress!
It's a good night for this little family :)
See you tomorrow!

Mondays (:

As it happened, I actually didn't have a frumpy feeling when I got up and headed in to work to start the week. Usually there's at least some bit of residual weekend vibe that makes Monday a tough pill to swallow, but today was good. I'm pretty sure I'm still on a high from yesterday's USWNT victory, but hey... who's to really say?? ;)

So with an amount of pep that both baffled and annoyed even me, I pranced into Monday with a heart and mind ready for the week. I found this uncredited thing floating around the web, and thought it was a perfect reflection of how I felt this morning:

I bounded into work to find an egg mcmuffin and $12 sitting on my desk, which confirmed that today was in fact going to be one that would prove to be terrific. [The $12 was my change from money I'd given Elisa last week to pick up food, but still... who doesn't love finding money on their desk, even if it is yours to begin with?? ;)]

So there was that, followed by a day stuffed to the gills with activity, and topped off with the salad I'd prepared for myself during meal prep last night. Nom Nom NOM!

After work, it was off to get Sydni, and then home to get some homemade chicken noodle soup rolling. There were some visitors in the neighborhood that naturally put Sydni on high alert, and I must admit it was a pretty cute little band of critters.
surprise neighbors!
We made and ate dinner, before Rob hit the garage for night one this week of bike assembly; he's got a trip coming up this weekend, so he's racing the clock. To say I'm impressed yet again by what this guy can do, well.. that's an understatement of course.
newly painted parts... wooo!
Syd and I let him have the garage to himself, but not after Sydni made sure to inventory all the parts taking temporary refuge across my dining room floor.. haha. It's about time for teethbrushing & bedtime stories, so I'm outta here for now!

G'Nite!
