Fresh Thyme Tuesday

To piggyback off my thoughts yesterday:

Please... if you are reading this for whatever reason, realize that our national headlines are going to have a permanent impact, regardless of who, where or what you are. This has created a ripple that will not soon dissipate; our generation is in the thick of it, but please don't believe that we'll be the last to acknowledge it on a very personal level.

In my opinion, social media platforms provide more of a curse than a blessing when it comes to reflection on national headlines - especially the controversial ones. I passively scrolled through bold statements, blame, opinions, questions, confusion and mixed emotions in my newsfeed throughout last night and the early part of today. There are people clearly marked on one side or the other, people in the middle who seem to be in a more neutral zone, and then people like me, who think the entire situation and following actions are the product of the depravity that's taking over the world these days.

Here is, if you're that interested, my penny's worth of contribution to the conversation:

Call me naive.. call me lost in a place where unicorns and fairies live in peace.. call me whatever you want. My heart is broken for this world... for those people directly involved. For the families of people directly involved. For a community being crushed to bits by the anger, fear and frustration of people clashing against each other.

Please... pray... for Ferguson.

In lighter, local news, I finally made it out to Fresh Thyme today with Elisa for lunch!
yesyesyesyesyes!
This was the perfect way to escape the drudgery of the weather outside and the depressing headlines that are all I've seen all morning. Fresh Thyme is the newest neighbor in the Oakley area, and I vote YES to going back.

The night rounded out with an outing to Village Pizza in Newtown, where Becky, Rob and I were able to hang out and enjoy each other's company.

We take a lot for granted every single day... I hope someone out there will keep me accountable to remember what I've got in this little life of mine is an undeserved gift. ♥

Love & Blessings to you & yours!
